Free check or paid report?
Start with the questions you need answered about a car. The label “vehicle check” can describe different services, so read what a particular report actually includes.
Start with the basic history
For Clean Green Cars, the free check covers vehicle details, MOT history and mileage. That information can help you look through the recorded test history and ask the seller about details that need explaining.
When the paid report becomes relevant
CGC’s Premium Report adds checks including outstanding finance, stolen records and insurance write-offs. Those answer different questions from MOT history: a vehicle’s test record alone does not tell you whether a finance record has been returned.
Other providers offer their own packages. Use their product descriptions and sample reports to understand which records are part of the option you are considering.
Before ordering
Confirm the vehicle details, the records included, any optional extras and the total price. Read the limitations attached to the results. A history report supports your investigation; you still need to consider the car itself, its documents and the seller’s answers.
